Bitter
9.5-10 gal
1.045-OG 33.5 IBU

16 lb pale
2 lb Aromatic
1.5 crystal 60

Single infusion mash at 152-155 60 min.
Batch Sparge – collecting 11 gallons..
1 oz of Target 8% 60min
.5 oz Challenger 7% at 30
1 oz Challenger 7% spread through last 10 min
2oz EKG dry hop (1 oz in each fermenter bucket!)

Thames Valley yeast

This yeast gave me problems because it doesn’t flocculate, or clump together and fall out of suspension, and I didn’t have a fridge to store the beer in for clearing prior to it being kegged. I appreciated the floral hop character, instead of the american Citrus! pale ales.

Boz’s Ordinary Bitter

We chilled, and pitched the yeast at 56 degrees F and brought the fermenters inside.

British hops…. and US-56-the sierra nevada yeast…. should be interesting.
