At the end of last May, Alison and I went out to New York City to have a bit of a vacation.
Our Friends Justin and Tessa live in Brooklyn.
I sent out a twelve pack of the j+t brew. and some other goodies.
We had a great time. We went to the Brooklyn Brewery, and had [...]

22oz bottle
Tasty hop flavor, again – at the moment any big hops type beer that isn’t a grapefruit cascade bomb – I am a fan of. This beer is a great hazy orange straw color, and the white head disipates.
Homebrewers and ProBrewers both appreciate Rogue’s willingness to disclose the ingredients and the vitals of such [...]

Stepping outside to a 75ËšF Nebraskan early evening – Great clouds. Time for some homebrew.
Sitting down after checking a steak. The big tall trees are doing fine a few houses down as they have for the past 20 years+. Hi squirrel.
A two month old amber beer sits before me- a full 1.5″ of foam [...]

Sometimes things just don’t work out.
Aksarben closed it’s door on memorial day weekend.
It was 5, and two guys walked up. As they normally do right when you’re trying to close a bit early on a saturday that was dismal register-wise.
I said, We’re closed. – for good. Thanks guys.
Normally I let people have a [...]

7.7% – 750ml Bottle.
Brewed and bottled by St. Bernard, Watou, Belgium.
Very Light and drinkable golden ale – my beer before this was a DT and there are some similarities. this is less bitter a little more malt driven flavor – Great head retention. good for an $8.00 beer – purchased at Beertopia.

Malty, with a dry finish. Applish flavor – Maybe that’s the grapes. Saffron? Really?
I can’t tell.
Good, but more of a special event type beer.

Hops! Ohhh yeah.
100+ IBUs – 22oz bottle!
Can’t quite place which hops are used, but they have a resinous lingering quality also some pine. Absolutely sides on the hops whereas the Arrogant Bastard has the big malt backbone to hold back the aggressive bitterness. the AB has more of a copper color as well, this is [...]

12oz 9%
A darkened La Fin Du Monde?
Very dark with an off white head More of a fruity corriander wit flavor than a dubble like rockefort. Very light and drinkable. I keep noticing that this dryness, low final gravities are something to strive for.

13th Aniversery – Mondo Red Ale
HOPS- Pungent Hoppy Red ale. – Columbus? – Chinook? Simcoe? Piney and resinous for sure. Great Malt flavors balance the big bitterness, which I think could only be from something like Marris Otter, or some Munich and caramel malts.
BIG FLAVOR & AROMA! – Great Beer.

Copper orange – and very bright (clear)
Off white head subsides. Malty and hoppy aroma – Citrus and some lingering characteristics. Caramel malt and a touch of Biscuit. The Label mentions the addition of rye to the mash.  This can dry out the beer and add a spicy flavor as well. i can’t recognize the [...]
